Low-Carb Diet for Diabetes Treatment
The Perfect Analogy: Diabetes and Drowning.
Think of a drowning man. As long as he is being filled with water, the man will keep drowning. Remove the water, and the man is no longer drowning. HE IS CURED!
It is exactly the same with diabetes. Think of a diabetic man (maybe you are even thinking of yourself here). As long as he is being filled with carbohydrates, the man will continue to have diabetes. Remove the carbohydrates with a low-carb diet, and the man is no longer diabetic. HE IS CURED!*
*Individual results may vary.
Now, we can all debate whether this is a “cure” or not. But what do you call it when you don’t have to take any pills? What do you call it when you don’t have to take 1, or 2, or 3, or 4 diabetes medications the rest of you life? Some call that a “cure.”
The same debate could be made for the drowning man. Is he cured? Yes. He is cured unless you start pouring water back into his lungs.
The point is this, if you are diabetic, you have a choice! You can choose to take the pills, or you can change your diet to a low-carb diet – you can Cut the Killer Carbs!
Diabetic “Super Foods…” What?
These are some of diabetic “super foods” as recommended by the American Diabetic Association on their website. I just checked it. These diabetic “super foods” include whole grains, beans, sweet potatoes, and fat-free milk and yogurt. What are all of these foods? They are carbs, carbs, carbs, and more carbs!
They also list other things on the website, some low-carb foods. But the point is, if I was diabetic and I ate the meal of whole grains, beans, sweet potatoes, and fat-free milk and yogurt, what would happen to my blood sugar? My blood sugar would be through the roof. Even if I wasn’t diabetic, and I ate a meal of these foods, my blood sugar would be through the roof!
Why did I eat this meal of whole grains, beans, sweet potatoes, and fat-free milk and yogurt? Because they are listed on the ADA website as “super foods.”
Diabetic “Super Foods?” It Depends on Your Perspective
Multi-National Drug Company: Whether not you think a food is a “super food” depends on your prospective, right? Let say you are a multi-national drug company, and you make billions and billions dollars every year by selling diabetes medication. From this perspective, these foods are “super foods.” They are the best thing you could ever want a diabetic to eat (ensuring a lifelong dependence on medications to treat their diabetes).
vs.
A Human Being Suffering with Diabetes: From a different perspective, let’s say you are a diabetic human being, and you don’t want take 1, or 2, or 3 diabetes medications, every day, day after day, for the rest of your life. From your perspective, these foods are NOT “Super Foods” but they are water to a drowning man!
