Low Carb Diet 044-The Low Carb Weight Loss Diet Program
Weight Loss 101: Cut the Killer Carbs – One Day to a Healthier You: Part 044-Session 6
Proof that Insulin Grows Fat
We’re getting toward the end here. Does anybody know what this is? These are knees. This is a lady who’s a diabetic. And what she did is I think for 40 years she injected insulin into the same part of her body right here into her thighs. She would inject insulin on this thigh and insulin on this thigh. So she grows these giant tumors of fat. So does insulin grow fat? Yes. Here it is. And when you eat carbohydrates you release that insulin all through your body. It’s not just local injection. So local injection of insulin grows fat like this.
The thing about insulin is this: without it, you would die. But the healthy thing for you to do is keep it as low as possible. It’s just like blood pressure. If you didn’t have blood pressure, you would be dead. You need blood pressure, but you wanna keep your blood pressure nice and low so you don’t stress your heart and stress your blood vessels. And luckily you can decrease both your insulin and your blood pressure when you cut the killer carbs. You have to see your doctor to know what you’re doing is good for you, to educate your doctor, adjust your medications if you’re on them, and to know of any medical conditions that you have that keep you from being on a diet. Because there are some weird medical conditions that people have, and I’m not you’re doctor, I don’t know about them so you need to talk to him and see what you’ve got.

The Low Carb Diet: More Questions and Answers
I would like for you to become a sold-out believer and that’s why I’m here because I lost the 40 lbs and kept it off and I just thought, “This is so easy. Why doesn’t anybody know about this?” If Lubbock is the second fattest city in Texas, why doesn’t anybody here know that you can just drop the pound right off without any willpower, without any effort, just by getting rid of the carbs. So I want you to become a believer and help your kids and help your family and help your doctor to know that there’s something out there that’s an alternative to starving and taking all the pills and getting sicker and sicker and sicker.
Question from Audience: (unintelligible)
Answer from Dr. Anderson: I do not know the answer to that question. Yes, Ma’am?
Question from Audience: (unintelligible)
Answer from Dr. Anderson: So the question was, why are people in Lubbock the second heaviest in Texas, and the woman said it has more fastfood restaurants than any other place in Texas. That very well may be true.
Question from Audience: (unintelligible)
Answer from Dr. Anderson: He asked if that promotes people not wanting to cook and the truth is that everybody has a busy life. Everybody has a busy life. And some people are busy because they have three kids, and some people are busy because they work, and some people are busy because they’re taking care of their family. Some people are busy because they’re working 2 jobs and 3 jobs. So I don’t expect you to cook every day of the week, but if you wanna take Saturday and cook eggs for the week and cook some sort of almond muffin for the week so you have them, I would do that.
Question from Audience: (unintelligible)
Answer from Dr. Anderson: Is all cheese good? I think that the cheese is in the Eat As Much As You Want But Count the Carbs section. Which means, I would count the carbs – I think.
Why Learn the Physiology of Weight Loss?
Another point is that the whole reason of teaching all of that physiology and talking about all the hormones and talking about the diseases of civilization and the diseases that we have, is I want you to recognize and I wanna convince you that eating these refined carbohydrate foods is not normal. It’s not normal for you. And so I’m not trying to promote a crash diet where you get on this diet, you lose weight, and then you get back off. The low carb lifestyle is not like a bus. You don’t hop on at one stop and hop off at the other and then hop on again. The low carb lifestyle is a realization that “Huh, I didn’t know all these foods were like poison and they caused all these problems – but they are.
We’re toward the end here, and the very last sheet of the packet – if you would please turn to the very last sheet of the packet – is a comment form. And that comment form, if you would please fill that out and hand it up here to the young lady at the front desk, she’ll take that. Because I wanna learn what we did well, what we did poorly and what we should do better if we choose to do this again in the future. Because all this stuff makes perfect sense to me, but it might not make perfect sense to you. And this will be the last time, we’re gonna close here. And I don’t know if you found any of this inspiring or motivating or if you think any of this is gonna help you somehow, but if you feel like it’s gonna help you, I’ll ask you to please make a donation. You can drop it in the box over there by the door. Make a donation so that we can get this same information out to as many people as possible. So if Lubbock is the second largest city in Texas, there’s a lot of people we need to help.
Spreading the Word on How to Lose Weight the Right Way
Question from Audience: (unintelligible)
Answer from Dr. Anderson: The question is, “Does the insurance company ever promote this stuff?” I don’t know the answer to that question; I’ve never seen it.
Question from Audience: (unintelligible)
Answer from Dr. Anderson: He said, “Maybe they need to start promoting this so they don’t have to spend so much money on prescriptions and medications.” Yeah, that’s kind of an interesting point. We’re entering a new era of healthcare. And the great thing about modern healthcare is that the technology is great. We can do things and help people in a way that we’ve never been able to do. The bad thing about modern healthcare is that the bureaucracy is unmanageable. It’s unmanageable such that it puts certain kinds of healthcare providers and doctors right out of business. So now is as good a time as any to take good care of yourself and do what you can to promote your own health without having to depend on the drug companies and doctors and hospitals as much.
The truth is that everybody’s gonna have doctors and everybody’s gonna get sick one day. Everybody’s life begins and their life ends. But you might as well have energy and feel good and be healthy while you can. Be as un-sick as you can while you’re here.
Yes, Ma’am?
Question from Audience: Two questions: one, how long have you been eating this way; and two, can you name some medical journals that you used to help you that are the same?
Answer from Dr. Anderson: I’ve been eating this way for two years. There is a slide in the presentation which I’ll be happy to share with you and it’s a list of 14 studies of low carb vs. low fat diets. But I’ll tell you the biggest thing, the biggest thing that convinced me is that there is a book by Gary Taubes and it’s on the list, it’s called Good Calories, Bad Calories, and it’s like 600 pages. And what it does is that book goes through study after study after study after study of the low fat diet hypothesis which has failed and failed and failed, versus the low carb diet hypothesis, which has been shown to work. So I’ll say if you’re looking for something to convince you, I would start there. And he lists all the clinical studies in there.
Other questions? Yes, Ma’am.
Question from Audience: (unintelligible)
Answer from Dr. Anderson: I don’t know, that’s a good question. I would say… to be honest I don’t know. This is what happens: your liver, you eat a realy high-carb meal, your liver gets packed with fat, releases all that fat and cholesterol out of your liver. So I would say that you’re probably releasing fat out of your liver from that meal for a day or so after. But I don’t know if it takes that long.
Yes, Ma’am?
Question from Audience: (unintelligible)
Answer from Dr. Anderson: I’ll leave that completely up to you. Because if you feel like to you, if you feel like the right thing is “Look, I wanna go into ketosis. I wanna be serious about this. I wanna make sure I’m in ketosis every day and I lose the weight,” then yeah, go ahead for the keto strips. But if you say, “Look, I know that a healthy diet consists of meat and vegetables, and I’m just gonna eat off this list,” then regardless of what the keto strip shows, you’re gonna lose weight. So I’ll leave it up to you; I don’t think you have to buy keto strips unless you feel like you have to buy keto strips. Because it has to make sense to you.
Yes, Ma’am?
Question from Audience: What about people who have kidney disease, what kind of diet should they follow?
Answer from Dr. Anderson: I don’t know the answer to that question, because I’m not a kidney doctor. If your creatinine is above 2.4 you’re not supposed to have a low-carb, high-protein diet. So for that, I would ask your kidney doctor, sorry.
Any other questions?
Okay, thank you, everybody, for attending. I’ll ask that you put your comment form inside the box here on your way out. If you would like to make a donation and help us share this information with anyone else, please you can make a donation and put that in the box also. Thank you.
